🗓️ Stress-free cooking: weekly menu, shopping list and cooking mode

Everything the site can do for you during the week: plan in five minutes, shop without forgetting anything and cook with your phone nearby without covering it in flour.

The hard part of cooking at home usually isn't the recipe: it's deciding what to make each day, remembering to buy it and not losing track with the pan on the stove. That's why we've been adding a few tools to the site that, used well, save you time, money and the odd disaster. Here's the quick guide.

📅 Sunday afternoon: plan the week

In Weekly menu you get the whole week in a grid: breakfast, lunch, dessert, afternoon snack, dinner and after-dinner dessert. Just search for the recipe and pick the day.

  • From any recipe: tap «Add to menu» and choose the day and meal without leaving the recipe.
  • Repeat days: if Monday turned out perfect, «Repeat this day» copies it to another day of the week.
  • Copy the previous week: ideal for those weeks when there's no time even to think.
  • Favourite menus: save a week you like (for example, «Light week») and apply it whenever you want with one click.

Tip: plan weekday dinners first, that's where we improvise the most. The rest usually falls into place.

🛒 The shopping list that writes itself

Once the menu is ready, tap «Add this week to the shopping list» and every ingredient for the week goes onto your list. You can also add a single recipe's ingredients from its page.

  • By section: the list is sorted by supermarket aisle (vegetables, meat and fish, dairy, pantry…), so you don't go back to the fruit three times.
  • By recipe: if you'd rather see what's for each dish, switch the view.
  • My staples: things you always buy (milk, eggs, bread) are saved once and added with a tap.

And since it's yours, nobody else sees it: neither your menu nor your list is public.

👩‍🍳 Cooking mode: your phone as kitchen assistant

Inside any recipe, cooking mode shows the recipe full screen, with big text and the screen always on (no more tapping it with floury fingers so it doesn't switch off).

  • Before you start: it first shows the ingredients so you can get them ready and tick them off.
  • Step by step: one step at a time, with the ingredients used in that step.
  • Automatic timer: if a step says «bake for 20 minutes», the timer starts by itself when you reach it. If you'd rather start it yourself, switch it off with the ⏱️ toggle.
  • Read each step: your phone reads the steps aloud, so you can cook without looking at the screen.
House trick: stand your phone in a glass or lean it against the sugar jar, and cook with your hands free.

✨ Small details that make a difference

  • Servings: change the number of people in a recipe and the quantities are recalculated automatically.
  • What shall I cook?: type what's in your fridge (for example, «chicken, potatoes, garlic») and it shows you the recipes that fit best.
  • My allergies: tick them in your profile and we'll warn you on recipes that contain them.
  • My notes: jot down your tweaks («less salt», «5 more minutes in my oven»); only you can see them, and they also appear in cooking mode and in the PDF.
  • PDF: download any recipe, or the weekly menu, ready to print and stick on the fridge.
  • App on your phone: install it from the menu («Install the app») and it opens like any other app, even offline for recipes you've already viewed.

🎂 And a surprise

If you add your birthday to your profile (just day and month, it's optional), you'll get a little greeting on the day. We won't say more. 😉

Missing a tool? Write to us from Support: many of the ones you have here started as a suggestion.
